These terms apply to SmithITS Renamer Standard, provided by Nicholas Smith under the SmithITS name. Other products may have their own terms.
Your purchase
The regular price is US $9.95 as a one-time payment, with no subscription. Any applicable tax is shown at checkout. Your purchase includes a license for the purchased major version of Standard Renamer.
Activation and moving to another PC
You may activate one PC at a time. Deactivate the previous PC through the app or your SmithITS account before activating a different PC. Internet access is required for initial activation and successful license validation at least once every 30 days. A valid signed offline entitlement permits use for up to 30 days after validation.
Updates
Updates within your purchased major version are included. Future major-version upgrades are optional and may be priced separately. Updates are installed manually using the newer signed installer; the app does not include an automatic updater.
Refunds
You may request a refund within 14 calendar days of purchase. See the Software Refund Policy for how to request one and what happens to your license.
Support
Email support@smithits.com for help with installation, activation, and product issues. Include your app version and a description of the issue. Do not send passwords, payment card details, or confidential files.
Preview, backups, and undo
Keep backups of important files and review the proposed names before each batch. Undo and recovery are not a replacement for backups. Later file changes, missing files, or occupied original filenames can prevent undo. Recovery and undo remain available even when a license is no longer active; contact support if you need help opening recovery.
Renamer privacy
Renaming runs locally on your PC. Selected file contents are not uploaded by the renaming or activation process. License requests send the information needed to validate the license and bind the PC, including the product and major-version identifiers, a hashed device identifier, and the license key or activation token. The service records license status and activation timestamps; normal hosting and security logs may also record connection details such as IP addresses and request times.
Your SmithITS account provides access to purchased downloads and license management. PayPal processes PayPal payments. For privacy questions, contact contact@smithits.com.
